gala_applesHi! Thanks for writing for me for holly_poly! My Things I Like lists tend to be pretty long but I hope they're not obnoxiously so. Rifle through and pluck out the bits that sound interesting :)
In general:
I'd rather have an in character conversation/world build than an unoffensive conversation/world build. This probably goes mostly for Stranger Things, but I mean it for any of the fandoms. Misogyny, racism, homophobia- if the characters would face it, write it. Feel free to age up canonically minor characters as necessary. Five of my six fandoms this year include drug use, and the other could easily incorporate it. Having done a bunch of things in my late teens, and living in a country with legal weed, I have a huge squick for drug inaccuracies. Erowid.org is a great resource with trip reports and instructions if you need it.
I’m down with any rating, but if you do aim for a higher rating, I quite like nearly any kink. Some of my favourites are makeshift bondage (like ties or clothes pushed half off to restrict movement) public teasing into being turned on, making people blush, dirty talk, marks of ownership (not necessarily hardcore like collaring, though that's great, having a bracelet to wear or a string of hickies or clothes sharing works too) drunk/high sex, BDSM, and overstimulation. But really, if you wanted to go for any kink I'd be happy. My only limit is no guro/vore.
Notes on DNWs: massages are a trigger of mine. It's really upsetting to read them. I'm okay with dub-con (whether due to manipulation or intoxication), but straight up non-con is not enjoyable. -Amanda/The Rowdy 3- The sense of freedom Amanda gains when she’s with the Rowdy 3 is fantastic, I love every moment they’re together on screen. Martin and Cross and Gripps and Vogel already being a quad, and Amanda fitting herself into that. Casual vansex between a few of them while a few others do other shit. Sharing leather jackets, and crowbars.
Kaos
-Caeneus/Riddy/Orpheus- I would love them to have a happily ever after poly ending. Maybe Orpheus helps in the fight against the gods, and Riddy takes him back. Maybe they’ve always been open, out of the spotlight, and Orpheus is happy to meet his girlfriend’s new lover. Maybe Orpheus dies, and he and Caeneus work together and bond. Orpheus was selfish, and what he did was fucked up, but he loves her, and I think she still loves him too, deep down, even if she needs changes.
Doctor Who
-Amy/Rory/Eleven- Eleven is MY doctor, and Amy and Rory are my favourite Companions. I love that no matter how much it initially comes off cuckholdy, Amy in love with Eleven and unsure of her relationship with her long time best friend, Rory somewhat intimidated that Eleven is real, it doesn’t stay that way. Rory was the boy who waited, the last centurion, and he took on the universe to save Amy and their baby in a good man goes to war. There’s truly no love story better than Amy and Rory. And yet they love him too. The longer they stick around, the more equal the power dynamic becomes, until towards the end it’s Eleven seeking them out. The end of their story, Amy and Rory getting stuck apart from him, I cried for literal hours the night that aired. It’s another PLEASE FIX IT fandom, at least if you want to write an end of the arc fic.
Sense8
-lWolfgang/Rajan/Kala- I love their dynamic together, so fucking much. Wolfgang is such a loner type, that when he tells Rajan other people wouldn't have done for him what he did and they're FRIENDS now, ugh. Even if you don't triangle ship them, only v-poly, they dance together at the wedding and I completely headcanon that Felix and Wolfgang and Rajan all hang out. And the way Rajan just wants to be a good husband, and genuinely means that in a 'what supports Kala' way, not in any traditional sense, fucking bless his soul. And Kala, struggling with it and the concept of secretly being "bad", and maybe that's okay... Basically, I just want them to hang out and date and fuck. If you only subscribe to v-poly that's fine, but the final orgy scene had Wolfgang and Rajan kissing AND I DIED, so if you want to write triangle poly that's lovely too. (also, mild headcanon of felix/wolfgang having on and off extremely casual bro-sex. so if Rajan wants to have an OMG KINDA GAY revelation I'd understand it more than Wolfgang having one? But you write what makes you happy)
-Wolfgang/Kala/Will/Nomi/Riley/Capheus/Lito/Sun- dude, come on. There’s a reason this is one of my top three shows ever, and that reason is canon goddamn eightsome. Holy shit, I love all of these characters and their struggles and their sexuality. It’s just so goddamn good. Any sort of happy slice of life, please.
Stranger Things
-Steve/Jonathan/Nancy- all four seasons have a very different vibe, but I love s1 Steve buying Jonathan the camera and all three sort of seducing each other, s2 breaking up/infidelity/needing more angstfic, s3 Robin’s enlightened Steve and Jonathan not moving away and s4 Nancy’s renewed interest in Steve fic. These three are my traumatised babies who can’t let go of each other despite it maybe being healthier too.
-Dustin/Lucas/Max- I can see Lucas and Max going through high school and college being constantly on again and off again. Always drawing back to each other, but needing other things. At some point he realises he’s bi, and Max is the kind of semi-girlfriend to encourage exploration. He naturally gravitates towards Dustin. Except Dustin isn’t the kind of guy to give relationship ultimatums, hasn’t been since the s1 convo with Mike about who’s best friends with whom. Dustin’s fine with Lucas having them both at the same time.
-El/Mike/Max- I love the devotion to El they both have. In a world where Joyce doesn’t force them to move, I can see the three bonding over their post s3 losses. An s4 AU where Max goes to Lenora and kicks the shit out of Angela at the roller rink. I also love how snarky Max is. El might get a softer Max, but Max would be brutal against Mike.
-El/Max/Lucas- El and Lucas never leaving Max’s bedside, until she recovers. (fine with chronic pain and permanent injury, but please no blindness). Bonding over wanting Max to get better. Helping her through rehab, and with a still alcoholic Ms Mayfeild.
-El/Max/Lucas/Mike- El not being properly socialized and not knowing it’s ‘weird’ to comment about how cute her female best friend is. Mike being scared for her, knowing what society would say, knowing what people like his dad would say. He knows how dangerous it is, he likes Lucas and can’t do anything about it. But El and Max and Lucas have all already learned lessons about not needing what society expects of them and they coax Mike through it. initially platonic sleeping in the same bed after a nightmare turning into desire.
-Will/Mike/El/Max/Lucas/Dustin- what can I say, I’ve always shipped core group fic in any fandom I’ve been in. I find all of their individual pairing dynamics so interesting, all wrapped up together is off the charts. They’d literally die for each other, something about that just warms my heart. As per Holly Poly rules, here I can also toss in, I’d also be fine with Steve being added in. Maybe not with all of them equally, but I do ship the rare ship of Dustin/Steve, and can see arguments being made for others in the party.
-Argyle/Jonathan/Nancy- just as Murray’s too honest talk was a catalyst for their relationship, so are Argyle’s stoned comments. They still love each other, and worrying about what could happen in the future while they’re mid-apocalypse seems kind of stupid. Jonathan never thought Nancy and Argyle would get along, but Nancy likes Argyle’s bluntness. She can see why Jonathan and Argyle are basically soulmates.
-Robin/Steve/Nancy- I respect lesbian Robin, and so does Steve. It’s v-poly, both of them loving Nancy. But Robin and Steve are queerplatonic soulmates, and they absolutely buy a house together and live in each other’s laps. They provide affection for each other when Nancy is busy or not in the mood. Shared trauma relationship, with getting strangled in Creel house, and thinking they’d won only for Vecna to escape.
-Steve/Robin/Vickie- Robin and vickie make great girlfriends, make each other feel brave enough to be out. Steve hangs out with them nearly 24/7, deeply codependent with Robin and vice versa, and the more Vickie gets to know him the more she loves him. Robin understanding Vickie’s confession, because who wouldn’t love Steve?
-Steve/Eddie/Nancy- the ultimate dom/dom/sub relationship, Eddie showing Nancy the ropes in BDSM technique while Nancy knows things about Steve Eddie doesn’t yet.
-Jonathan/Nancy/Steve/Eddie- the two couples (Robin and current GF also present but not in the ship) having dinner parties and attending concerts and art events, ending each event telling their partner how attractive they find they other couple. One of them breaking the barrier and bringing it up to the group. Could be partner swap, or a full foursome.
-Argyle/Jonathan/Nancy/Robin/Steve/Eddie- again, I love core group fic. I’d love some established polycule fic, about the various ways they cohabitate, or traditions and how they celebrate.
Teen Wolf
IMPORTANT NOTE! I HAVE NOT SEEN THE MOVIE, I DONT HAVE THAT PLATFORM YET. PLEASE NO SPOILERS, SET YOUR FIC IN AN AU, OR BEFORE 6B.
-Allison/Isaac/Scott- Maybe this is bad, but I love the PTSD. The histories of child abuse/gaslighting. The mental breakdowns. I’m not saying I want a super bleak fic, but I like how these three fractured people found other people to love them. I don’t ship any of them WITH Chris, but I like him being a present good father for Allison and a mentor for Isaac and Scott, so him being mentioned would be cool.
-Allison/Scott/Stiles- I still like some of the same angsty stuff, broken people finding each other, but also the backbone of certain friendship that is Scott/Stiles. No matter what happens, they’ve got each other’s backs. I’d love fluid sexualities and no labels and kink explorations and stoned sex. Also, no need to figure out an elaborate s3 fixit, Allison can just be alive.
-Isaac/Scott/Stiles- The way Stiles and Isaac seem to fight about who's more important to Scott is so close to arguing over who'd make the better girlfriend. Scott being Scott, there's no way he'd ever pick a side, so Stiles and Isaac would have to be bitingly pragmatic about it.
-Allison/Lydia/Scott/Stiles- I loved these four against the aggressive murderous Hale pack in s2. Allison and Lydia's friendship is great, Scott and Stiles together is a universal law, Allison and Scott are Shakesperian, and Stiles and Lydia have their moments, when Stiles isn't being too Nice Guy at Lydia. This also works for my favourite 3a trope, Stiles will literally die if he stays a virgin.
-McCall Pack/Stiles- there’s kind of two eras of this, and I love them both. There’s the
-3a Scott/Stiles/Lydia/Allison/Isaac/Kira- which is fun because it’s a lot of awkward tension and people vying for attention from each other.
But there’s also the
-4/5 era Scott/Stiles/Malia/Kira/Lydia- and I just deeply love all of these characters and ship them in any combo. Malia learning ethics from Stiles, who is chaotic neutral. Kira and Stiles bonding over nerdy fandom things. Malia having that Alpha relationship with Scott. Kira and Malia dancing at a club in 401 was enough to make me ship them. They’re a lot more traumatized at this point, and clingy. I hate Theo breaking them up, and I want them to communicate and love each other again. 6a and everyone realising they need Stiles back is sooo my jam, though I hate how in canon it’s turned into a Stydia moment, when Scott and Malia love him just as much (but if it’s 6a I want an AU where Kira’s still around)
