May. 11th, 2012 02:23 amThis is the first time I've posted a WIP amnesty. I always save the bits that don't work in the fic and put them in a snippets doc, and write that later. But I just found out that soon Gdocs is going to chance to Gdrive, and that only gives you 5g of free space, and I have no idea how many g of space I'm already using, so. Here are some fic snippets that I will never use.
1) Ray/Gerard au based on Stardance by Spider Robinson. I love the book, but holy shit, I cannot write about dance. I know FUCK ALL about dance.
"I want you to watch my brother."
"Your brother is a dancer? What company is he with?" If you know Mikey you know of Gerard, but this is the first he’s heard of dancing ability.
"That’s the problem." Ray starts to smirk when he sees him, an expression quickly quashed by Mikey. "Don’t laugh now, it’ll only make it worse when you cry later."
Ray remains skeptical. Gerard in absolutely no way fits a dancers physique. The cynicism fades when the music starts and Gerard beings to move. He knows what he’s doing. More than that, as the audience Ray knows what he’s doing, each flick of a limb conveying more than words. Mikey is right. He wants to scorn himself for not believing Gerard could. But it doesn’t matter. As perfect as he is, no company will ever have him. Everyone in the room knows it. He’s more convinced than ever that life is a giant fucking joke.
"I’m sorry."
"For what?"
"That you’re so fucking good."
"That bad, huh?" Gerard shrugs. "Yeah, that’s what I thought too. I’m too good for the amateur community, and too different for the professionals to try."
"So what are you going to do?"
He shrugs. "I don’t have any money left. Get a back up job and live with Mom and Dad I guess. Maybe I can be a musician."

Ray can’t stand to be around Gerard. The three minutes of that peice forced him to fall in love and knowing Gerard will never have the chance to frce that upon an entire theatre makes him hate everything. It only gets worse when Mikey sends him a link to Gerard dancing on Youtube. It's got a few hundred thousand hits, and even for the douche auidence that is Youtube the comments are generally positive. But none of them are people that matter and none of them pay Gerard for the work. It’s not enough.
2) Ray/Mikey Ray gets arthritis. Consider it a precursor to writing something much better with JRA verse.
Ray’s not doing anything when Mikey texts him to come to the studio. To be honest he’s rarely doing anything during the day. He went from a job that was more than a career, an entire lifestyle, to not having a life at all. His days are watching downloaded tv. When Ray really thinks about it he gives himself six more months before he blows his brains out. Until then there’s no reason to turn down invitations. Might as well leave his friends with good memories.
Being in Mikey’s studio better be a good future memory for Mikey because it’s going to be ainful as hell for him. Everything about the place, from the trudge to the second floor, to the thud of the soundproof door closing is something else he can never have again. It’s hard to be gracious but Ray tries. Either Mikey doesn’t notice or expects a positive attitude from him because he doesn’t say anything.
3) Frank/a ton of OCs. sub!Frank loves his wife, but wants to be dommed by genderfucked people. Jamia's cool with this.
Frank claims a Saint Andrews cross and straps in the straps he can get to. Sooner rather than later a dom comes along and does up the fourth. Their gender is hard to tell, the corset is either accentuating small female breasts or making curves where there aren’t on a male. Frank is glad he can’t tell. They’re short with dark hair, which is his type.
