I've loved a lot of fandoms in my day. A short list of the best bits of canon, for day 13 of snowflake.
-Harry Potter: My favourite bit of canon will always be in OOTP, when Seamus thinks Harry is insane for believing You Know Who is back -not because he really believes it, but because his mum says so. And then Ron shouts him down and angrily asks if anyone else has a problem with Harry, and Dean and Neville both say no. I love this not just because Seamus' values are so different from the others and that's cool, and because Ron is loyal, but because later he mails the Quibbler interview Harry gave to his mum. It makes me want to write fic about Seamus, and how he reconciles his family with his school. ...oh wait. I have. I have a ton of Seamus fic, I've written probably 75 fics with him. (a completed smutty_69, and then assorted)
-Buffy: Willow and Tara. More specifically how their interactions always change. First it's shy, and then Willow goes power hungry and Tara finally leaves her, then >:( Warren >:( and Willow decides to destroy the universe because fuck all ya' all if Tara's not around. But my most favourite scenes are in season five, after Glory's stolen her mind, and Willow takes care of her. UGH MY HEART. (also musical episode, fuck yeah!)
-Angel: "What are you people looking at? Well?" "They're looking at the wee little puppet man" "ARRGH!" *flying tackle*
-X-Men: I love the dichotomy between Pyro, the boy who's proud of who he is, and Rogue, the girl who hates herself. I can't ever remember disliking a character more than I dislike Rogue. (possibly tied with Caleb from Buffy, who literally rips my fav. character's eyeball out) Especially when you make the obvious correlation between mutant rights and gay rights, and you realise she basically just sent herself to straight camp.
Queer As Folk: I'm finally rewatching it again, I'm only halfway through season two. But basically any scene where Brian and Michael are together. I don't care that he fucks Justin and he fucks Ben, I friend-ship Brian/Michael insanely hard.
Skins: Again, it's the relationship I like best. This time between Tony and Sid. It's so dub-con D/s. Tony is so manipulative, and Sid almost always does exactly what he wants. Their relationship hints my kinks REALLY. STRONGLY.
Panic: Stoner cabin in the woods where they wrote a wolf musical.
My Chem: Frank's homophobia is gay shirt.
Cobra Starship: Nate lived in Gabe's basement, and Gabe later wrote a song about kidnapping and fucking someone in his basement.
FOB: Pete's gay above the waist.
The Used: Bert McCracken's dirty ex-methhead existence.
