I bet he plays black-green. Although black would really be more Mikey or Frank's style. I fucking hate black, it's so annoying. I really wouldn't have pegged Gerard for green at all, but it's not like there's any way around it, Hunted Wumpus is green. It's actually a pretty sweet card, a 6/6 for 4, with a put into play ability?

I WANT TO KNOW WHO'S PLAYING CHAOS ORB! *needs details* because it doesn't seem like a Gerard card, if we're going off the idea that he's got a solid green deck, it's an artifact that really fits red or blue more than anything else. Hell, it's almost a joke card. Also, I really hope that it's Gerard/whoever's from their first sets that they bought in high school. Because if he bought it now, it's like 130 bucks. Which, okay, yeah, he bought a thousand dollar jacket. They're rockstars, they have money. But it's still kind of dickish. If fangirl Gala was playing Magic and Gerard pulled out a Black Lotus I'd fucking slap him.

doo eeeeeet! I would totally have pegged Gerard for black because black is like, totally kewl. and he does have an assholish diva side to his personality. I have...no comment on the green either. (who really plays GREEN? COME ON.)

...unless he does play those huge multi-color decks which are so obnoxious too.

Ugh. Black. Fucking zombies and silvers and playing from the graveyard. The friend I normally play with is almost all black decks, and ugh. STOP DOING ONE DAMAGE, IT TAKES MORE EFFORT TO FIND THE RIGHT NUMBER ON MY DICE THAN I CARE TO GIVE.

I'm actually almost always a green-red combo deck. Or green-blue. Pretty much my favourite combo is hamletback goliath with big green creatures. But I just didn't figure GERARD for power creatures. I thought he would be more white or blue, with everything everyone else does all DENIED, RETURN TO HAND.

five colour decks are annoying as fuck too. the same friend has a deck with all five myojin, and sometimes i want to slap him for it.

The first time someone tried to teach me how to play I was rolling on E, and the entire hour's lesson was like "yeah, uh-huh, yeah *dreamy smile*". but they tried again later, and i took to it. it's fascinating.

I know sadly little about Magic but I would read all the fic about about Gerard and Mikey building Alicia and Pete and LynZ decks because they don't know how to play. Or you know if you wanted to talk about what kind of deck works with Hunted Wumpus I would love to listen :)

On an off-topic note I used to have the game Hunt the Wumpus (I know I know, it's BASIC!) so when I first saw that that tweet I though that was what Gerard was playing. In my defense I realized how unreasonable that was in short order ;)

daaaamn, old school. I just wikipediaed it, and wow. Way to sound like an idiot, but I didn't even know they HAD computer games in the mid-seventies.

I just want Gerard planting Akroma's Memorial in Lyn-Z's deck (Creatures you control have flying, first strike, vigilance, trample, haste, protection from black, and protection from red.) because he knows Mikey almost always plays black decks, and he's not going to let his brother beat his wife. Meanwhile Mikey is building Pete an almost all spell Blue deck so Pete can counter EVVVVERYTHING everyone else does.

I ranted to my dad this morning, like WE KNEW THEY PLAYED MAGIC, BECAUSE THERE WERE PICTURES. BUT NOW WE KNOW GERARD PLAYS AT LEAST A PARTLY GREEN DECK! *flail*

the fic, I want it. Plus I am a cheap Magic player, I get by with as many commons as I can. But they're ROCKSTARS they can totally buy the 30 dollar rares. And I want there to be epic battles between Gerard's life gain deck, and Mikey's drain deck. I want them to build stacked decks knowing the favourite cards and colours of each other.

BUT IT WOULD BE SO MUCH FUN. I think it might be my favourite peice of canon, that gerard and Mikey play, and Frank sits and acts/is bored, and Bob literally HIDES BEHIND COUCHES to avoid getting dragged in.

On the other hand, crossbigbang opened today, and bandom/xmen is a siren call I cannot deny.

I just get so fucking amused by Gerard and Mikey having played each other for a solid decade+. It's like me and my best friend who play together, as soon as I put down Hurricane he's like UGH, THAT DECK, or if he pulls out myojin I'm like CRAP CRAP CRAP MUST LIFE DRAIN AS QUICK AS POSSIBLE BEFORE HE MAKES HIS ABILITIES HAPPEN. Mikey and Gerard would totally have the same thing going, one card and they'd know the entire deck. And OF COURSE they'd each build their loved ones stacked decks that counter the person's normal playing style, like "Gerard plays a big creatures deck (hunted wumpus, weee!) so I'll make you a direct damage deck, Alicia." AND THEN THERE WOULD BE GROUP GAMES WITH ALLIANCES, BUT NOT JUST THE MARRIAGE LINES.

Ugh, I'm nerding out just thinking about it. *is a lamer*
