I WENT INTERNET SHOPPING, and I bought the most ridiculously awesome thing: http://store.discovery.com/detail.php?p=270127&v=discovery_shows_mythbusters except when I bought them last night they were 40% off so yay perfect timing for me! I have a shelf of bobbleheads, before this it was a tie as to whether the Nightcrawler or the Shakespeare one was coolest. Now it's clearly these.

For those that watch Supernatural, I need help. I own season one, but I haven't watched it yet, just got it because it was cheap and I remembered liking the show when it was new years ago. I don't want to spoiler every episode by checking wikipedia, but I need to know the episodes that have ghosts. Or at the very least, what the SPN ghost canon is. I seem to remember their vampires being different from Buffy, so I'm guessing their ghosts are too.

Writing my Fall Out Boy are Xmen fic is hard, because it makes me want to watch the trilogy again, and I cannot afford to waste 6 hours. MY LIFE, SO HARD.

I can probably help you with their ghost!canon as I had to memorize it/work with it/tweak it/expand it for a fanfic I wrote last year. What kinds of things do you need to know and I'll try to help.

thanks so much. Basically I've committed myself to 25 crossovers, and I'm running low on prompts left and fandoms I think I can manage. One such fandom is SPN, when I watched it on Space I remember the obvious Wincest, and I know around the time I stopped watching it they started to pander to the viewers more (didn't they have a whole 'con episode?) And of the prompts I have left, ghosts works best. So I pretty much have to figure out how to jam things together.

What I was originally thinking was band X rents a cabin (canon). a few members of band X think they see something when they're jerking off. band X is aware that a member of band Y went crazy when band Y was recording and thought he saw ghosts(canon), so they get on top of it and call their manager. Manager makes things like a thousand times worse, because it's damn near canon that manager has slept with most of the band. So manager and a member are having sex and the ghost is all RRRGH! and tries to kill them, fails for some reason. Manager's like HOLY SHIT and calls friend B that knows his spooky shit. Friend B possibly knows Bobby or something, or maybe even Sam, and the Winchesters come out.

I do remember that Winchesters would hit the ghost with rocksalt, and then find the bones and burn them. And I think it's pretty likely that a ghost could have a sex trigger (maybe her bf killed her during the afterglow or something) and get all creepy when people are jerking off, and fly into a rage when there's actual intercourse.

What I'm not sure of is how much she could actually hurt them (can ghosts touch people in SPN, or would she have to get by on throwing shit?) And when manager and X are having sex and she does try to kill them in whatever way, how the fuck do they momentarily survive? Are ghosts scared of anything in SPN? And also Bobby's the cool redneck in the diner that's good with computers? Or is that a different guy? I'm sure there's a cool redneck in a diner in SPN.

Any and all help will be much appreciated!

Um so I'm jumping in (hope that's alright) to say that a sex trigger would totally work with SPN ghost canon. The ghost from the pilot episode has an infidelity trigger and it's also canon that if a ghost is strong enough it can kill a person either directly or by using objects around the person (like if the person is in a kitchen the ghost could throw a knife at the person).

Also I would read that fic you are describing in a heartbeat because that plot sounds excellent.

The best ETA I can give is all crossovers are due before Feb 28. So. *shrugs* When a to do list is epically long you sort of flounder around writing whatever fits your mood. EXCEPT NO_TAGS. WHICH I NEED TO FINISH NOOOOOW.

1) Yes, they did a con episode. They also did a Wincest episode. And this season they're doing one where Sam and Dean wake up to find that they are Jensen and Jared who star in a show called SPN. No, really.

2) Yes, ghosts can touch people/hurt them/etc. Ghosts are tangible in the SPN world but they can also teleport from one position to another/disappear at will.

3) Ghosts in general are only deterred by rock salt and iron. However, every ghost has things specialized to why it is a ghost. So, for instance, with yours since she was killed during the after glow, she might fear something related to sex. For example, if she were kissing the boyfriend when he murdered her, she might fear kissing because it lead to her death.

4) Bobby is a cool redneck, but I don't know about in a diner or good with computers. Bobby tends to stick to books, though he uses the internet when he has to. Sam often uses his laptop in diners, though, so maybe that's where you're getting it from.

Basically, every ghost is unique and it's mostly informed by their back story. They're all vulnerable to iron and rock salt, though, and can be destroyed by salting and burning either their bodies or some object that might tie them to the earth (for example, maybe they were cremated but their favorite hair ribbon is still lying about or whatever). And um...yeah. That's all I got. Mine was a little different to work out the mythology of, because it was a love story between Ed Zeddmore, who was a ghost facer, and Alan Corbett, who was a ghost. So I had to work out more how Corbett's powers affected Ed and stuff instead of how he could use them to kill people. Heh.
