it's a slash fic for the fandom 'Fat Kid Rules The World', except there is no fandom. there are no comms or people with that book as an interest on livejournal.
the thing is, it's a really good book. one of the few that i had two copies of, one for lending to friends, one for keeping myself. even though it's a young adult book, i highly recommend it.

basically, Troy is obese and about to commit suicide when Curt, a homeless but locally famous fellow highschooler stops him by telling him he owes him lunch. Curt is a guitarist in a band, and Troy's a fanboy of the band. When Curt asks him if he plays, Troy lies and says yes. So then Curt decides they're going to form a punk rock band together. Aside from the obvious (Troy's inability to play drums), another obstacle is Curt's addiction to prescription drugs.
it's a story of trying to find your way in life, as corny as that sounds. it's not all depressing, Troy's got a wicked sense of humor and sarcasm. when he considers jumping in front of the subway he laughs because all he can picture is a splatter and a single leg still in a shoe still standing straight up. i used one of the chapters as a monologue for drama class.
it also means a lot if you (like me) are fat. fat, intelligent MC's are rare, and all the more lovely for it.

what are your other fandoms? i've got xmen movieverse, buffy, angel, qaf, anything from Gordon Korman, and History Boys. (though i ship a ship no one else has come aboard with, so no fic for me)
