today is the day the Fringe guides come out!!! i just spent like an hour reading it again and again. it just fills you with anticipatory gleeeeeee.
it's funny, i never thought i'd be at the point where a con is an obligation, but omg, wtf infinitus, why you right in the middle of my festival? this cuts four days out of my planning. FOUR DAYS.
so i have the seven days after i come back to watch the plays. (i just looked up my return flight and i get back at 11.32, so i probably won't have time to get downtown sunday night before the last plays have started) and then the day before, wednesday, is the start date, and the plays only start at like 7 at night. i need to be at the airport at 3 in the morning, so i can probably go to two or three wednesday. assuming a steady rate of 4 plays a day excluding the wednesday, that's 28 plays.
like i said, i just spent the last hour going through the guide and making a tentitive list of things i'd want to see. anyone want to guess how many of the 155 on offer this year i want to see?
63. that's right. sixty fucking three. or, you know, 9 plays a day. not only can i in no way afford 63x9 dollars a ticket, i would also have to use a time turner to manage it.
so now i must embark on the epic journey that is weeding my selections and then pressing them into a schedule. which is made all the more depressing by knowing that by the time i get back the newspaper will have printed 4 days of reviews and i'll have to reschedule everything because inevitably i'll have some one star "winners" in my schedule.
