because i enjoy thinking the worst of people (in fic, in life i'm really quite optimistic) i bring fic.

People highly underestimate Cedric. They don't seem to understand he can hold the balance of a person's mind in his hands. He's done it several times now, making someone bloom into the best possible person, or withering them until they're just a husk.
His favourite accomplishment was Zacharias Smith, a fourth year to his seventh. First year, first month really, he crushed the boy to bleeding shards. It shows so much more now; now that the boy is expected to have a girlfriend and a lovelife. Really, the only way Zacharias could be more an image of perfection was if he had a golden frame around him.
The cluster of friends around him prove another point; it truly is easier to attract flies with honey. Maybe not as fun, but easy, certainly. But Hufflepuffs were known for hard work, toil, a list of words along those lines. Cedric would much rather crack one and make him want to die, then to gather a hundred sheep.
It's his seventh year, and now he's a Champion, which truly says something about the school. Fleur was a looker, and Viktor was a idiot, but Cedric? He enjoys humiliating others in secret. And he's the representitive of Hogwarts.

It's kind of wrong, because i've always liked cedric, so now i should be yelling at you, but it was beautifully done and...my poor zach!

you know, i'm not even sure what he did to zacharias, just that to be that hostile in ootp, something must have happened. i want to leave it up to the diabolical imaginations of the reader(s)
